The paper is half the job.

Print the same file on two stocks and you get two completely different objects. Most briefs pick the stock in the last five minutes. This page exists to move that decision earlier.

The ranges

Six families. One very nice shelf.

01

Colorplan

Dyed right through, so the cut edge matches the face. The stock people mean when they say a card feels expensive.

02

Coated

Satin and gloss, 95gsm to 350 plus a 420 artboard. Right when images do the work.

03

Uncoated

No glare, easy to read and write on. 80gsm through to 340.

04

Enviro

Ecostar 100% recycled and Envirocare uncoated.

05

Luxury

Gmund Cotton, Mohawk Superfine, Neenah Classic Linen, Conqueror Laid, Extract and Buffalo Board.

06

The unusual ones

Papers made from disposable coffee cups, and cotton stocks with no tree fibre at all.

Every stock, by name.

When it’s the right call

How to choose.

  • Will it be held? Then weight and texture matter more than finish.
  • Is there a big solid area? Uncoated will soften it — sometimes exactly what you want.
  • Is it being embellished? We almost always laminate first — it gives foil and raised varnish the best finish. Tell us the finish and we’ll set it up.
  • Is it being written on? Plenty of beautiful stocks are terrible with a pen.

Behind it

How we do it

We hold eight Colorplan colours in three weights, the full coated and uncoated range and twenty-three luxury lines — and because everything is digital, short runs on any of them are affordable.

“When printing with uncoated stocks on the KM-1, the look and feel is just better, which means we can offer a premium product.”
